SOULRELIC Calls It Quits
March 24, 2007Finland's SOULRELIC has issued the following update:
"As some of you might have wondered the lack of information considering the band known as SOULRELIC, aka KURAKELLO (inside joke, don't ask) here's some: Currently the status of this band is unsigned and unexisting, as we see no continuum for SOULRELIC as a demo band.
"Some of us will continue making music with different instances, but at the moment there's no light at the end of the tunnel for this band. No dramatics we're involded in this separation, and we'll remain as very close friends with each other.
"But never say never. There is still a slight chance that someday we'll write new material, but if it ever happens, it won't happen in the near future.
"So long, and thanks for all the fish."
SOULRELIC's debut album, "Love is a Lie We Both Believed", was released in Japan in February 2006 via Marquee Inc. The Japanese version of the CD includes a bonus track — a previously unreleased song called "Tears Are Home". The album, which was released in Finland on the Spinefarm label, was mixed by Hiili Hiilesmaa, who has previously worked with such acts as H.I.M., SENTENCED, MOONSPELL and THE 69 EYES.
SOULRELIC's lineup on "Love is a Lie We Both Believed" included current TO/DIE/FOR guitarist Antza Talala. The axeman left SOULRELIC in January 2006, citing "personal conflicts within the band" as the reason for the split.
